Hydrological Applications of GIS

Gurnell, A. M.; Montgomery, D. R. (Ed.)

Chichester, West Sussex: John Wiley & Sons Ltd, 2000.

176 Seiten

This book is part of the Advances in Hydrological Processes series and is a compilation of papers previously published in the May 1998 special issue of the journal Hydrological Applications. As admitted by the editors, this book is not a comprehensive treatment of the subject but is aimed at addressing current key issues relevant to hydrological applications of GIS.

In shedding light on the role of GIS in hydrological applications, and in stressing the importance of reliable input data over increased uninformative detail or complex algorithms, I think this volume (borrowing the phrase from Clark in Chapter 1) manages to put in its place in hydology.
